This app creates a semitransparent overlay of a picture on top of the phone's camera preview. This allows the phone to be positioned in the same location and orientation as when the original picture was taken. Currently I use this app as a quick way to align the antennas for my software defined radios with a fixed point, but there can be other uses as well. This app also has the capability to select a certain color to be transparent for "green screen" style overlays. The transparency can be applied to the image or the live camera preview. Using animated bar codes, it's possible to send data over the air using only the camera. This app is the barcode decoder (receiver). An encoder (sender) can be seen at cimbar.org. With CameraFileCopy it is possible to receive data over the camera as a one-way data channel. It does not use any antennas (wifi, bluetooth, nfc, ...) or other tricks. Notably, this means it works just as well in airplane mode. The app reads animated cimbar codes. Nearly all the interesting logic is from libcimbar – included via a git subtree. The sender component of cfc is a cimbar encoder -- such as cimbar.org. Navigate to that website (or use libcimbar's cimbar_send to generate barcodes natively), open a file to initialize the cimbar stream, and point the app+camera at the animated barcode.

With the release of Android 14, Google added an API to enable app developers to detect screenshots. This API has since been adopted by popular apps such as Snapchat. CaptureSposed is an Xposed module that effectively disables this API as well as the screen recording detection API added in Android 15. The app provides in-app switches to control each hook. You can also add optional Quick Settings tiles that mirror the in-app switches. ⚠️ WARNING: CaptureSposed is intended for rooted devices running Android 14 or newer and requires Xposed. The purpose is to keep scores for games where each turn could give you any (random) score, and not a fixed block; for that type of game, use https://f-droid.org/packages/com.nolanlawson.keepscore. You have two options: "New Game" or "Last Game". On either of them, you can add/delete people, change the maximum score and choose between win or lose at that score. For example, on Uno, you can set the maximum score at 200 and set it to lose, so that when someone crosses the 200 barrier, the game ends and a "LOOSER" banner appear alongside the name who lost. During the game, a number box will be available for you to input the points accumulated, with ENTER changing down for the next, and an empty box being the same as zero points. After updating all scores, click on the update button. The app will save the data (names, score, win/lose) of your last game, so you can re-use it later via the "Last Game" button.
